Scrutiny and Eligibility:
The journey towards an enriching postgraduate experience at NICMAR University begins with a meticulous scrutiny of applications. Eligibility is established based on the documents submitted by candidates.
Invitation to Selection Procedure:
Eligible candidates are then invited to participate in a comprehensive selection procedure designed to assess various dimensions of their academic and professional capabilities. The selection process comprises three crucial components:
- Post Graduate NICMAR Common Admission Test (PG-NCAT):
- The PG-NCAT is a written test that evaluates candidates on:
- Quantitative and Analytical Ability (60 marks)
- Data Interpretation (30 marks)
- Verbal and General Ability (60 marks)
- This section contributes a total of 150 marks to the overall assessment.
- Personal Interview (PI):
- The Personal Interview, worth 50 marks, provides a platform for candidates to showcase their communication skills, subject knowledge, and overall suitability for the program.
- Rating of Application (RA):
- The RA is a critical component, contributing 50 marks to the overall evaluation. It is calculated based on weighted scores derived from the cumulative academic performance and work experience, where applicable. The information for RA is gathered from the documents submitted by candidates.
Alternative Entrance Exam Scores:
- As part of its inclusive approach, NICMAR University considers valid scores from alternative entrance exams such as CUET PG, MH-CET, CAT, MAT, and ATMA as alternatives to PG-NCAT for MBA and PGD programmes.
- GATE (AR/Civil) scores are considered as alternatives to PG-NCAT for the M.Plan programme.
Final Merit Calculation:
- For candidates appearing in both PG-NCAT and other additional entrance exams, the highest score among such exams is considered for final merit calculation.
Details and Total Marks:
- The selection procedure, consisting of PG-NCAT, PI, and RA, collectively contributes to a total of 250 marks.
Merit-Based Selection:
- The selection of candidates is purely merit-based.
- Admission offer letters are issued in the order of merit, ensuring that the most deserving candidates secure their place in NICMAR University’s esteemed PG programmes.
In essence, NICMAR University’s PG admission procedure is a holistic approach that not only evaluates academic aptitude but also considers the overall profile and potential of each candidate. The emphasis on merit ensures that the university attracts and nurtures individuals who are not just academically proficient but also possess the qualities needed to excel in the dynamic fields of construction, real estate, infrastructure, and project management.
